Sylvie's Hatha Yoga & Reiki

Union of Body, Mind + Soul = Being Present

REIKI

Definitions:

In Reiki, "ki" is a Japanese word that means "universal life energy".

In yoga, "Prana" is a sanskrit word that means "life", "Breath" or "vital life energy".

The spiritual practice of Reiki is a technique that aims to channel the universal life force energy through a practitioner's hands and transmit it to the client. This activates the body and restores physical and emotional well-being. Reiki practitioners' hands need only to rest on or hover above a recipient's body to help unite the body and mind. Reiki can even be accomplished long distance by a practitioner's focusing energy and intention on a person.

Both yoga and Reiki bring people to a place of stillness, clarity and greater awareness by uniting body and mind. While Reiki invites life force into the body, yoga creates pathways for life force to flow more freely.

Yoga and Reiki complement each other: it is said that yoga can hep an person understand Reiki in a much deeper way, just as Reiki helps a person understand the deeper energies of Yoga.
